Perfect Shape
About This Game
Road means car, water means boat, stairs mean runner. Pick fast, win the race.
You run forward on your own. All you do is decide what to be.
Road means car, stairs mean runner, water means boat, mud means truck, rubble means drill, and a hole in the ground means helicopter - and every one of those is the single fastest thing on that ground, by a wide margin, every time. There is no guessing whether a form suits a surface: the speed of all six on all six is written out in a table the whole game reads, so what the tutorial tells you and what the physics actually rewards cannot drift apart.
The skill is timing. Transforming takes a moment and you crawl while it happens, so the change has to be started late enough that it lands as you arrive - too early and you throw away the ground you are still on, too late and you enter the new stuff half-changed.
The prompt at the top tells you what is coming and how many metres away it is; the rest is reaction. You race four other drivers who play by exactly the same rules and read the same table.
A sharper opponent is not given a private speed bonus, it simply picks correctly more often and judges the moment better, so beating one means out-thinking it rather than out-grinding it. Twenty stages that lengthen, add terrain types and shorten the segments until the changes come faster than comfortable.
Coins on the course, boosts, skins and hats, and per-form upgrades that make a form faster on the ground it was built for - and nowhere else, so no amount of buying can ever make the wrong choice the right one.
